Melandru would allow you to get rid of Mystic Regen vs spiders, and put in some other attack or heal. Apply wouldn't degen at all, so you'd be able to do it that way, plus you have +200hp, which would make Victorious Sweep trigger the +hp almost right away.

I tried it yesterday with Dwayna.. The skales use Grenth's Balance and I died..
I don't know if it's possible to heal this loss of Health but I will try with Signet of Pious Light - maybe it works

I am 99% sure the Skales use Life Transfer as their elite. Are you sure it was Grenth's Balance?

Indeed as poke pointed out the Ancient Skales use both Life Transfer and Grenth's Balance. There are a couple different monsters in the game that use more than one Elite. One of the other monsters are the Obsidian Guardians in UW, as they use Obsidian Flesh and Ward against Harm.
Congrats on the build and I will have to try it out once my Dervish has all those skills. I am just wanting to use something different from my warrior down there.

With the recent changes to Dwayna (60 health per skill used now - about 40% increase) I'd think it'd be pretty viable. I would also like to see how melandru works out and about drop rates - what do you get on average per run? Profitable? I'm new to FoW so.. ;/

Well first off this is 2 months old, so its not a horrible ressurection.
But i do give you props for the conviction comment. However, Physical Resistance is the overall better skill.

PR is definitely a better skill, with +16 armor and twice the duration, I was just wondering how 'bad' it would be to the build, also considering the point that you free up for another mastery

Vow of Silence seems like a very poor elite for this run. It doesn't seem efficient to use your elite skill only when running. You shouldn't need it as you should be able to run past the shadow army without taking too much damage. VoS isn't needed for that.

Is Avatar of Balthazar necessary? The ~60s downtime would slow down the run alot... full windwalker's and PR for 125 armor should be enough? Spiders don't do that much damage by themselves...
Also how do you pull the Doubter's Dryders at the start of the cave? If I rush in, cave spiders start to spawn. But if I try to pull them out they just run back in when I try to get them far enough.
